Like many young accountants, my career started in public accounting. After I graduated from my master’s program, I immediately went to work at a large accounting firm as a tax accountant.

Going directly into public accounting is a popular track for a lot of accounting students. While some people end up eventually transitioning to smaller firms or industry once they’re done with the fast-paced public accounting life, I chose a slightly less traditional path and decided to become a lecturer.
