Tips for accessing the new AICPA site and your FVS Section benefits

1 year ago · 2 min read

You may have noticed that there is a different look to the AICPA website. The new platform is designed with you in mind. It is customizable and should help you more easily navigate the site and find your favorite Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS) Section resources and benefits.

Following are steps to help you have the best experience and become familiar with the site.

Setting up your profile

If you haven’t yet, log in using the purple button on the top right side of the screen. This is the same login information you used on the former AICPA.org site.

The importance of setting your preferences can’t be overstated. It will only take a minute and is the most important step to make your site experience successful. Your preferences will determine the content and news you see.

You can do this on the upper right corner by selecting your Name > Profile > Preferences.

Best-experience tip: by clicking the Follow button in the upper right on any topic or sub-topic page, it will automatically add that topic or sub-topic to your Preferences for you!

Finding your FVS Section benefits

You can find the Forensic Services and Valuation Services resource suites by hovering over Resources on your screen and then clicking on Forensic Services or Valuation Services. We highly recommend you bookmark these pages as they serve as your main destination for FVS-specific information.

Best-experience tip: Shortcuts are another way to get to frequently used pages. When you are on the any AICPA page, for example the Forensic Services topic page, click the Create Shortcut button on the upper right portion of the page and a link to that page will be listed under My Shortcuts on the left side of your AICPA home page.

Getting to know the Forensic Services and Valuation Services homepages

There are several sections to the Forensic Services and Valuation Services pages. By logging in first you will then be able to see everything that FVS has to offer.

The first section highlights eight key resources to keep at your fingertips like the SSFS and VS Section 100 tool kit.

The second section has quick links to some of the most popular FVS Section benefits that you likely use on a regular basis like Daubert Tracker, BRG Online and the FVS Learning Library.

If you keep scrolling, you’ll see a list of quick links to FVS Subtopics on the left side of each page respectively. This is designed to help you find tools based on topics like fraud or ESOP valuation. If you prefer to search by resource type such as podcast or article, keep scrolling and you’ll see that under Forensic Services or Valuation Services Resources.

Filtering for your Forensic Services or Valuation Services resources

One of the benefits of the new site is that you can access all topic-related content in one aggregated area from all AICPA sources. Scrolling down to the large purple Resources block and clicking on the View all Resources button in that block enables you to see all Forensic Services or Valuation Services-tagged content.

Best-experience tip:Filtering is a powerful new feature on the Forensic Services or Valuation Services Resource pages. The categories across the top and the filter options on the left give you great flexibility.

You can take this one step further if you’re interested. There is a function allowing you to filter to see only the content that is available to you as an FVS section member by selecting Premium Content and checking the Forensic and Valuation Services Section box.

Finding upcoming FVS Section webcasts and free online CPE

If you’re looking for webcasts, conferences or other courses like the forensic certificates, hover over CPE & Learning at the very top of the page, then browse by topic and select Forensic Services or Valuation Services.

Making the most of your membership

If it’s been a while since you reviewed your FVS Section member benefits, take a few minutes to peruse all that is available to you.
