Help Small Businesses Become CPA Powered
Small businesses total nearly 30 million in the United States, yet many of their owners struggle to do the work and run a successful, profitable enterprise. Many business owners and aspiring business owners may not realize how much a CPA’s advice can help them start, grow and thrive. As their trusted advisers, CPAs can help them tackle numerous challenges and operate their businesses with confidence. 

To let small business owners know that they don’t have to go it alone, the AICPA has launched the 2015 #CPAPOWERED national social media campaign: CPA Secrets to a Better Business. In addition, a small business marketing toolkit has been developed to assist members serving this segment communicate their value and services. Together, these efforts position CPAs as professionals who understand the unique needs of small business owners. 

National Campaign Drives Greater Visibility for CPAs
National Campaign Drives Greater Visibility for CPAsCentral to the campaign is a series of short, tips-based videos, or secrets, that demonstrate the expertise of CPAs. Topics addressing the concerns of small business owners include succession planning, understanding health insurance, acquiring financing and more. The campaign includes social media advertising that targets small business owners and drives them to a new website,, where they can watch the videos, read informative articles and find a CPA in their area. Key campaign messages explain to entrepreneurs how using a CPA for the total life of their business can help them build and maximize its value.

Tools You Can Use to Promote Your Services
Another crucial component of the overall campaign is a Small Business Marketing Toolkitcreated to help CPAs promote their services. Addressing businesses in various stages in the business lifecycle, the toolkit includes downloadable, co-brandable and printable brochures on a variety of topics. Customizable ad templates allow firms to place targeted advertisements in local print and social media venues. Co-branded with your firm’s information, these resources will help entrepreneurs understand how your practice can provide strategic services throughout the year, not just at year-end closing. Members can also find social media messages to customize and post on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. Additional resources will be added, so check the toolkit frequently for updates.
