AICPA Chief Auditor Details Best Practices to Ensure a Private Company Audit Follows ASB Standards

NEW YORK (March 20, 2020) – The American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) is hosting a free webcast on what private company auditing standards say about remote auditing. The live one-hour presentation will be broadcast from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. ET. on March 23, 2020. The webcast comes with free CPE for all AICPA members and non-members.

The webcast is timely because as the COVID-19 virus spreads, responsible organizations recognize their employees need to work remotely. Questions remain about how firms ensure audit staff follow AICPA auditing standards while auditing remotely.

During the AICPA presentation, Bob Dohrer, AICPA Chief Auditor, CPA, CGMA, and Andrew Prather, Audit Shareholder at Clark Nuber, CPA, will identify accounting and audit areas of higher risk due to the COVID-19 virus. In addition, they will discuss best practices to ensure an audit follows AICPA standards, especially as it relates to accounting areas that need extra attention, fraud interviews, internal control and risk assessment, and documentation.
