LAS VEGAS (June 12, 2017) – An audit associate from Phoenix, Ariz., is the recipient of this year’s Young CPA Scholarship from the American Institute of CPAs’ Information Management and Technology Assurance (IMTA) Section. The scholarship covers the registration fee and travel expenses to AICPA ENGAGE, currently underway in Las Vegas.
Corbin Smith, 26, is a CPA with Sarvas, Coleman, Edgell and Tobin, P.C., a full-service accounting firm in Phoenix. He obtained his CPA license in Arizona in 2014, holds a master’s degree in accountancy from Arizona State University and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.
Nominees for the IMTA Young CPA Scholarship must:
- Be a licensed CPA
- Be a member in good standing with the AICPA
- Have one to five years of experience as a CPA
- Have spent less than five years in an IMTA-related field, such as security and privacy, data analytics, service organization control engagement or IT risk and assurance.
