Washington, D.C. (April 12, 2016) – Troy K. Lewis, chair of the American Institute of CPAs’ Tax Executive Committee, will testify on Wednesday, April 13, at a hearing entitled Keep It Simple: Small Business Tax Simplification and Reform, Main Street Speaks.” The hearing is being conducted by the House Small Business Committee Subcommittee on Economic Growth, Tax and Capital Access.
Lewis will testify in support of legislation, H.R. 2315, which prohibits states from taxing most nonresident employees unless the employee is present and performing employment duties for more than 30 days during the calendar year. The AICPA believes the mobile workforce bill would provide relief from the current web of inconsistent state income tax and withholding rules that impact employers and employees.
The hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. in Room 2360 of the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C.
The AICPA’s testimony will be available on April 13 from Shirley Twillman at firstname.lastname@example.org.
