CNBC reports that Americans' personal financial satisfaction is on the rise, accounting to the AICPA's PFSi. Two weeks before the US presidential election the PFSi - which represents the financial standing of a typical American - is at the highest level since 2007.

Kelley Long, CPA/PFS, member of the AICPA's Consumer Financial Education Advocates group, told CNBC that people should take advantage of their good financial situation, "People always wish that they had tightened the belt," she added. "Set yourself up for success in the future: Put some protections in place, such as building an emergency fund and paying off your debt," she said.
