The Association is officially a Great Place To Work®!

1 month ago · 2 min read · AICPA Insights Blog

Seventy-four percent of employees in Malaysia, the UK and the US have deemed the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants (the Association) a Great Place To Work®.

As a Certified™ Great Place To Work® organization, we scored a Trust Index™ rating of over 65%, an essential requirement in qualifying for the certificate. The Trust Index™ measures employees’ trust in their leaders, job satisfaction and colleague relationships.

Findings also showed that 85% of employees felt equipped with the correct mental and physical health programs, and 84% reported a strong work/life balance.

The results come after extensive employee feedback gathered by Great Place To Work® —the global authority on workplace culture. The certificate confirms our status as a premier accounting membership body and an employer that puts employees first.

High trust leads to more productive workforces— and delivers outstanding business results

Health and job satisfaction are vital signs of workplace happiness.

A workplace with satisfied employees, as opposed to less engaged employees, is 37% more likely to drive up sales within their organization, according to Shawn Anchor, author of the international bestseller The Happiness Advantage.

Anchor’s research also identified a 31% uptick in productivity within happier organizations and a 19% improved task accuracy. As Anchor writes, “Becoming happier doesn’t just put a spring in your step – it’ll make you more productive too.”

Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work® UK, said, “We congratulate the Association on achieving their Certification™.

“Organizations which put the employee experience at the heart of their business gain their employees’ trust and, in turn, are truly able to build a great workplace culture that delivers outstanding business results.”

Survey results detail why we’re a great workplace

Leadership and human resources note the following strategies to ensure we evolve as an accounting membership body and as a Great Place To Work® for years to come:

  • A salary and benefits package that is market competitive and reviewed yearly

  • A global team of volunteers on the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Council

  • Worldwide office closures in recognition of World Mental Health Day

  • Personal and professional development opportunities, including free CPE/CPD courses

  • Free and confidential access to mental health professionals through the Employee Assistance Program

  • Sustained staff recognition via the YouEarnedIt program

“When I think about my work at the Association, I think in terms of people”

An employee since 2012, Alfonso Olaiz, MBA, is the Association’s senior strategy manager. Alfonso cites the Association’s mental health approach as a critical factor in his flourishing.

“I’ve always felt that not only do my work contributions matter but that also my personal well-being is important, and work/life balance and mental health are valued and encouraged,” Alfonso said, adding, “When I think about my work at the Association, I think in terms of people.”

Tariro Mutizwa, ACMA, CGMA, CA(SA)(Z),Regional VP, Africa, believes the readiness and openness of her colleagues allowed her to settle in swiftly and not feel intimidated.

“I feel my horizons have been expanded in such a small space of time,” Tariro said, “I have received a lot of support from most of the people in the Association who have selflessly shared information with me.”

The shared perspective of employer’s and employees’ wellness shows that a strong workplace culture promotes long-term organizational benefits.

At the Association, our employees aren’t just an asset — they’re great people. Maintaining this culture drives us forward, not only as an organization but also as a Great Place To Work® for the talented employees who diligently serve our organization.
