Born in the Netherlands, Johanna moved with her family to the Pomona Valley, California in 1966. Johanna attended local schools, including Cal Poly, Pomona, where she majored in Behavioral Science and minored in Business Administration.
The first public accounting position Johanna held was with a small Pomona CPA firm while she was still in school. Other than a short stint as a Corporate Controller for an Orange County commercial real estate developer and international business consultant, Johanna has worked in public accounting ever since.
After her youngest child began kindergarten, Johanna decided it was time to make it official and obtain her certified public accounting license. After taking some special courses and doubling the experience requirement, Johanna sat for and passed all four parts of the CPA exam her very first time.
Now a partner in Gray, Salt & Associates, LLP in the Village in Claremont, Johanna's practice includes mostly small businesses, estate and trust tax clients, and individual tax clients.
Johanna lives with her family in Claremont and is married to Jonathan Salt, a background painter in feature animation and freelance artist. They have four grown children, ranging from 24 to 28 years old. Johanna has always been very active in the community, serving on various non-profit Boards in numerous positions. She is active in the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, currently serving as the Chapter Management of an Accounting Practice Chair, State Immediate Past Chair, State Board, and State Council member. Johanna and her husband attend First Evangelical Free Church in Fullerton.
