2020 Report on the Current State of Enterprise Risk Oversight Eleventh Anniversary Edition NC State's ERM initiative, in partnership with the American Institute of CPAs, released its 2020 Overview of ERM Practices. Based on survey responses from 563 business executives spanning a number of industries, types, and sizes, the report provides detailed insights about the lessons from COVID-19 and maturity of their organization's current state of ERM practices.

Mark Beasley, KPMG Professor and Director of the ERM Initiative in the Poole College of Management at NC State University spoke at a livestream event on Monday, March 16, 2020, about applying ERM core principles to manage the multitude of risks triggered by COVID-19. Hosted by the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, Mark outlined how key concepts from enterprise risk management might provide a framework for organizing how we prioritize and respond to the most critical risks triggered by COVID-19. He highlighted tips for managing risks for the “Here and Now” and for later when we rebuild once COVID-19 is behind us.

The ERM Initiative in the Poole College of Management at NC State University, in conjunction with global consulting firm Protiviti, annually surveys boards of directors and C-suite executives about risks on the horizon for the upcoming year. The most recent report, 2020 Executive Perspectives on Top Risks, highlights top risk concerns on the minds of executives for 2020.
