Speakers
Kasey Pittman
Kasey Pittman, a Senior Manager with Washington National Tax at Baker Tilly US, has over a decade of public accounting experience. Kasey is well versed in complex investment portfolios and multi-state tax filings. Before joining Baker Tilly US, Kasey was a Senior Tax Manager & Emerging Tax Issues Leader at PBMares, LLP. Kasey was a founder of and served as chair of PBMares Women’s Initiative Council. Additionally, she assisted staff as a mentor and was active in developing and conducting department training. Prior to joining PBMares in 2017, Kasey had worked with other accounting firms, including five years at a “big four” firm. She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and is a licensed CPA in Virginia. Kasey graduated magna cum laude from The College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and summa cum laude from The University of Notre Dame with a Masters of Science in Accounting in Tax Services. At Notre Dame Kasey was also the recipient of the academic achievement award. An active member of the community, Kasey is an alumna of the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce’s LEAD Class of 2018- 2019; was active and held leadership and executive board positions for many years in the Junior Women’s Club of Williamsburg; and severed for several years as a board member, President, and Treasurer of the DJ Montague PTA. When away from work you’ll find Kasey with her family and friends enjoying all Williamsburg has to offer.
Nick Preusch
Nick Preusch’s primary focus is performing tax services for high wealth individuals and mid-to-large business entities with YHB CPAs. Nick’s responsibilities include tax research related to complex business transactions and tax return preparation and review. He also works closely with businesses and individuals to find tax efficiencies through ever-changing tax legislation. He was also an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) attorney at the IRS National Office in Washington, DC, where he was the lead attorney for several significant tax ethics cases. Nick co-authored Tax Preparer Penalties and Circular 230 Enforcement, a textbook published by Thomson Reuters. He has also been published in the AICPA’s Tax Advisor and Journal of Accountancy along with CCH’s Journal of Tax Practice and Procedure. In 2017, he was named one of the VSPCA’s Top 5 Under 35. In 2018, he was named to CPA Practice Advisor’s Top 40 Under 40. In 2018, he was part of the AICPA’s New Face of Tax ad campaign. Nick is a licensed attorney in New York and a Certified Public Accountant in Virginia. He earned an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University, a JD from Case Western Reserve University, and an MS in Accounting from the University of Connecticut.
