Ronald G. Worsham Jr.
CPA, Ph.D.
Professor Worsham is currently an associate professor in the School of Accountancy at Brigham Young University. He graduated from the School of Accountancy at BYU in 1985 with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. After graduation, he worked for number of years in the corporate and international tax group in Arthur Young’s Dallas tax practice. While in Texas, he became licensed to practice as a CPA. Subsequently, he continued his academic training at the University of Florida where he received his PhD in 1994. Since joining the BYU School of Accountancy faculty, Ron has primarily taught undergraduate and graduate tax courses in the School of Accountancy and MBA program. He also currently serves as the Tax Group Coordinator in the School of Accountancy. Professor Worsham has published articles in The Journal of the American Taxation Association, The Journal of International Taxation, The Tax Executive, The Journal of Accountancy, Tax Notes and in other journals. He is also active in professional organizations including the American Accounting Association and the American Taxation Association. In addition to his teaching and research at the university, Professor Worsham has taught and developed course materials for the national training programs of Deloitte, Ernst &Young, KPMG, Moss Adams, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and RSM in the following areas: Tax Research, Corporations, Partnerships, Accounting Periods and Methods, International Tax, Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740), International Tax, Mergers & Acquisitions, and S Corporations.
Troy Lewis
Troy Lewis is the Past Chair of the Tax Executive Committee of the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) in Washington, DC. In this role, he has testified six times before the United States Senate Finance Committee and the House Committee on Small Business. Mr. Lewis has been active with the AICPA and the Utah Association of CPAs, for over two decades serving in key leadership positions including the President of the UACPA. Mr. Lewis currently teaches accounting and tax at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. He is in practice as a Manager/Member at Lewis & Associates, CPAs, LLC in Draper, Utah. He also worked in public accounting at Arthur Andersen and for a community bank in St. George, Utah. He obtained his Masters of Accountancy and Bachelors of Science in Accountancy from Brigham Young University. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
