American Woman’s Society of CPAs Lifetime Achievement Award
The AWSCPA life achievement award recognizes women and other professionals across the country who have demonstrated leadership, integrity, sacrifice and accomplishment in furthering the advancement of women in accounting and exemplifying the highest ideals of the accounting profession. The award reaches out to women in various segments of the accounting community, including public accounting, industry, government, non–profit and academia.
The AICPA Foundation, the AICPA’s Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee and its newly created AWSCPA task force are sponsoring this new AWSCPA Scholarship Award to provide financial assistance to outstanding female students majoring in accounting or an accounting-related field.

AWSCPA Small Firm Networking group
The networking group provides a forum to brainstorm the most pressing business and personal development issues facing women practitioners. In addition to providing an opportunity for continuing education associated with managing and operating a firm, networking group meetings provide a forum for in-depth practice management discussions and an exchange of information on firm operations and professional issues. Members take advantage of the valuable knowledge of their colleagues and share their own knowledge with their peers.
- Agenda topics for individual meetings are developed by the groups themselves
- Groups have approximately 20-25 members and each group has a chair who helps to arrange meeting logistics and facilitates conversations
- All participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses, along with the meeting registration fee, which is based on cost-sharing
- Meetings account for continuing professional education
