The Stuart Kessler Scholarship for Minority Students was created to recognize Stuart Kessler’s commitment to enhancing the integration of the accounting profession. Throughout Mr. Kessler's career, he has sought to ensure that people of color receive an opportunity to become certified and active in the profession. This scholarship is awarded annually to the highest ranked graduate-level student of the AICPA Minority Scholarship program.
About Stuart Kessler, CPA/PFS
Stuart Kessler is a past chairman of the AICPA Board of Directors, former AICPA Foundation president, and former president of the New York State Society of CPAs. He is a founding partner of Goldstein, Golub & Kessler LLP in New York City and a managing director of the American Express Tax and Business Services Inc.
In recognition to his effort and dedication of elevating and promoting the profession, Mr. Kessler received the AICPA Gold Medal for Distinguished Service in 2003. This award, the highest bestowed by the accounting profession, honors lifetime achievement by a member whose influence on the profession as a whole is distinguished when compared with other contemporary leaders. Mr. Kessler holds a B.A. from Brooklyn College, an M.B.A. from the City College of New York, a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, and an L.L.M. in taxation from New York University.
