Joanne Fiore

Vice President, Professional Media, Pathways and Inclusion

Joanne Fiore is Vice President of Professional Media, Pathways and Inclusion at the American Institute of CPAs. In this role, she is responsible for the AICPA’s newsletters, flagship magazines Journal of Accountancy and The Tax Adviser, and other related news aggregation and advertising activities.

In addition, Fiore oversees the development of programs that engage accounting educators, refine accounting curriculum, and advance future generations of CPAs. Her teams drive student awareness of the CPA profession and promote the value of sitting for the CPA exam. Fiore oversees the Accounting Doctoral Scholars Program, AICPA Scholarships, and the efforts of the National Commission on Diversity and Inclusion. Her team supports activities related to the CGMA designation, including CGMA Advantage and Financial Management magazine.
Fiore joined the Institute in July 2006 as Editor in Chief of the Journal of Accountancy and was promoted to Publisher of Magazines and Newsletters in 2008. In this role she has vastly improved the standing and content of the JofA and The Tax Adviser, deepened the quality and sharpened the focus of our vast array of newsletters and created an expertise in news generation and aggregation. Her team brought the JofA into the digital age with a robust website, award-winning mobile app, and social media coverage of daily accounting, tax and business news.
Fiore has over 25 years of leadership experience, having previously served as President of Oakstone Legal and Business Publishing, and prior to that as Vice President of Editorial of LRP Publications.

She has served as Board Chair for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce, and prior to that as Executive Director of the Mount Snow Valley, Vermont, Chamber of Commerce.

Fiore earned her BA from the University of Texas at Austin and is a graduate of New York University School of Law, admitted to the bar in Pennsylvania.
