Since its establishment in 1922, the vision of the AICPA Foundation has been to advance the science of accountancy and accounting education. Guided by a core ideology and principles, the Foundation is committed to supporting and growing the next generation of CPAs through three primary focuses:

  • Accounting education and outreach
A good education is the gateway to a successful and meaningful career.

  • Scholarships and fellowships
Helping the best and brightest achieve their goals and become future CPA leaders.

  • Diversity and inclusion
Increasing the representation of minorities in the profession is key to continued cultural growth in the profession.

When you donate to the AICPA Foundation, you are helping to secure the future of the accounting profession. By making a gift to the AICPA Foundation, you directly support the next generation of accounting students, like Zachary:

“The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship Award was very beneficial to me as I decided to return to school full time to pursue my Master of Accounting degree. Being a recipient has allowed me to get involved in many different aspects of the AICPA. It has exposed me to many facets of the accounting profession. I am truly blessed to be one of the AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship Award recipients.”

The AICPA Foundation Annual Report, which you can download below, offers a glimpse of the programs and scholarships funded in part by donations from individuals, firms, state societies, and others. Below are some highlights of how we are positively affecting the accounting profession:

  • AICPA Legacy Scholarship Program: The AICPA Foundation funds over 100 scholarships each year to top accounting students from a wide range of backgrounds and levels of education. The Foundation provides nearly $500,000 annually in support of this program.

  • AICPA Accounting Program for Building the Profession (APBP): APBP trains high school educators to teach a higher-level accounting curriculum. The curriculum is comparable to what a college student would learn in an entry level accounting course. The AICPA Foundation fully funds the program, and over 1,200 teachers have been trained across 48 states to date.

  • AICPA Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop (ASLW): ASLW is an annual invitational program hosting over 100 minority accounting students each year. The workshop aims to strengthen students’ professional skills and understanding of the limitless possibilities and benefits of earning the CPA certification. Students who attend have all expenses paid by the AICPA Foundation.

Join the AICPA Foundation in supporting the future of the profession by including a contribution in your membership renewal or by making a gift now.
