IRS Issues Tax Tables, Inflation Adjustments for 2013
 

The Internal Revenue Service on Jan. 11 released 2013 tax tables and other inflation adjustments that reflect changes made by the American Taxpayer Relief Act. The inflation-adjusted numbers include the personal exemption and standard deduction amounts, the unified credit against the estate tax, and the alternative minimum tax exemption. Use the client letters in the AICPA’s Tax Practitioner’s Toolkit to answer questions that your individual or small business clients may have about what is in the new American Taxpayer Relief Act. The AICPA will also be releasing (in the coming weeks) a brochure that highlights tax issues that affect taxpayers for the current filing season. These letters are also on the AICPA’s fiscal cliff page along with news, analysis and web events to help you navigate the new law.

CPA Letter Daily Offers Tax News Each Weekday, RSS Headline Feed and Widget for Your Website
 

The Internal Revenue Service said it will be able to accept most tax returns starting Jan. 30. Join CPA Letter Daily as the free e-newsletter counts down to this date in a special section, Tax Season Watch. As in previous years, this daily section features two tax stories and a resource for tax season. After Jan. 30, the section will provide the number of days until Apr. 15, the last filing date. If you’re not already a subscriber to CPA Letter Daily, sign up today for free and get your first issue on Monday. New this year, you can access the day’s tax articles through a special RSS feed.
