Anthony Pugliese, CPA, CGMA, CITP is Executive Vice President – Membership, Technology and Learning for the American Institute of CPAs. His responsibilities include member recruitment and retention, Member Service and Operations, Information Technology and Member Learning & Competency.
Pugliese drives the continued growth of our membership by attracting new members and improving retention strategies with existing members for CPAs and CGMAs, sections, credentials and quality centers. In addition, he is responsible for driving increased revenue growth and member satisfaction through the expansion of all learning products, including the identification and delivery of product portfolio strategies and go-to-market strategies for new and existing markets around the world. He is responsible for developing overall IT strategy for both member facing and internal technologies to maximize member experience and internal productivity, working in collaboration with regions. Pugliese also leads the Member Learning & Competency, Contact Centre, Member Applications, Member Value, Service Center Operations and Information Technology teams.
Pugliese joined the American Institute of CPAs in 1997. In his career, Pugliese acted as overall project manager for AICPA's relocation of its operations to Durham from New York, currently employing over 600 people. He is the Chair of the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Chamber of Commerce and is the past chair of the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce. He has also served on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the Research Triangle Regional Partnership. Pugliese also supports Habitat for Humanity and the Durham and Wake County public school systems.
