| Since
1976 the JofAs editorial advisory
board has selected the best article of each year
to receive the John Lawler Award for editorial
excellence. The award is named for John L.
Lawler, a former JofA editor who also
held a number of other distinguished positions in
the Institute. A few of our authors also have
been inducted into the John Lawler Award Hall of
Fame, an honor reserved for writers whose
articles have won two or more awards. The winning
articles provide an interesting overview of the
most important topics throughout the
professions recent history and highlight
some of the timeless themes that continue to
resonate with CPAs today. LAWLER
