How Can Clients Learn How Valuable You Really Are?

You've worked hard to build your tax practice and establish trusting relationships. You've developed effective strategies to help clients plan for the future. Now you need to demonstrate how you and your firm provide value to them and set you apart from other tax preparers. The AICPA has produced free resources to help its members do just that.

Materials in the AICPA’s new Tax Practitioner’s Toolkit position CPAs as the premier providers of tax services. Whether you are a sole proprietor, have 12 employees or 40, these resources – including brochures on tax strategies, print ads, talking points and tweets – will connect you to current and prospective clients and also help you talk to your staff so they will reinforce your value in their client communications. Explore the Tax Practitioner’s Toolkit and see how it can support your tax practice.

Engage Current and Prospective Clients in Tax Season and Year-Round

Making Your Voice Heard, Tax Season and Beyond – Read this helpful guide that describes the resources below with tips on how to use them:

    • Tax Saving Strategies Brochures, Speech and PowerPoint Presentations. The AICPA’s annual Tax Saving Strategies brochures, speech and PowerPoint presentation feature an overview of key tax law provisions and potential tax benefits for individuals and small businesses for the 2011 tax year. These materials reflect current tax law as of December 12 and will be updated as quickly as possible to reflect any changes that would affect 2011 tax returns or tax planning for 2012. Both brochures (one for individuals; one for small businesses) include space for you to imprint your firm name and contact information.
    • Tweet Tax Tips with Ready-Made Campaign. Here’s an entire library of Tax Tip Tweets that promote the higher value of the CPA, ready for you to download and tweet to your followers or use for status updates on Facebook and LinkedIn. Follow the calendar for tweeting on specific holidays, or tweet tax advice when it suits your schedule.
    • Educate Clients on Why CPAs are the Best Choice. To help clients and prospects understand the benefits of working with a CPA, download or print the tax services marketing brochure - Preparing for Life’s Most Important Momentsthat describes in detail the services CPAs provide.
    • Short Blurbs for Your Website and Client Newsletter (brochure) – Choose from a variety of messages that showcase your expertise and value
    • Place Compelling Ads:
      • Google AdWords (pay-per-click advertising) – Place ads on Google so consumers searching for your services can find you.
      • Print Ads - Promote your tax expertise year-round with new print advertisements. The ads capture CPAs’ qualifications and speak to a cross-section of today’s taxpayers – families, individuals and small business owners. Download these free advertisements, which provide an area for your firm name and contact information.
