Media Advisory - Press Conference Call AICPA-UNC to Release Results Of Quarterly Economic Outlook Survey

Washington, D.C. [Dec. 3, 2010] – The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants will release the results of its most recent quarterly survey of chief financial officers and senior-level executive Certified Public Accountants.  The survey results show CPAs in executive and finance positions are slightly more optimistic about prospects for the U.S. economy and their organizations but see a degree of uncertainty that spells continuing caution.

The third quarter Business and Industry Economic Outlook Survey, which was conducted via an online questionnaire from Nov. 9-30, included 1,443 CPAs who hold leadership positions as chief financial officers, chief executive officers, chief operating officers, or controllers in their companies. The survey provides insights on the outlook for the economy, the prospects for companies, spending plans for 2011 and expectations for revenues, profits and hiring.

The Quarterly AICPA Business & Industry Economic Outlook Survey is conducted jointly by AICPA and the University of North Carolina’s Kenan-Flagler Business School.
