AICPA Fellowship Program Backs Minority CPAs

An Accountingweb.com article titled “Fellowship Program Backs Minority PHDs" quoted Steve Matzke, the senior manager of the AICPAs Accounting Doctoral Scholarship Program. This program awards $12,000 fellowships to “full-time accounting scholars” who have a significant chance of becoming an accounting educator. Matzke went on to add that it is critical for the program to have people from all walks of life, so that it can continue to foster the development of the CPA profession. One of the recipients, Paige Gee who will earn her doctorate in accounting from Temple University wants to pursue an educator role, because during her college career she never “had an African-American professor.”
