AICPA Accepting Applications for Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop

Reporting for Accounting Today, Danielle Lee writes that the American Institute of CPAs is now accepting applications for the Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop. The Workshop, now in its 20th year, is an annual invitational program for future CPA minority accounting students and features speakers, panel discussions and interactive programs to strengthen attendees’ professional skills and promote the CPA credential.
“The AICPA’s Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop is an excellent opportunity for minority accounting majors to hear first-hand what a career in the CPA profession entails,” stated Kim Drumgo, AICPA director of diversity and inclusion and vice chair of the National Commission on Diversity and Inclusion.
This year’s Workshops with be held at the:
- Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants, June 5-7
- Oregon Society of Certified Public Accountants, June 26-28
- Kansas Society of CPAs, July 10-12
- Florida Institute of CPAs, July 24-26
The deadline to apply is April 1, 2014.
