During its October meeting in Beijing, XBRL International, Inc. (XII) announced that Arleen Thomas, CPA, the AICPA’s Senior Vice President - Member Competency and Development, was elected chair of the XII International Steering Committee (ISC) for 2011. "I am passionate about the role of the International Steering Committee as a critical component of the governance of XII and as a voice for the membership,” she stated. “Proactively engaging our members, listening to their needs and concerns is of primary importance to me. I am convinced that XBRL will continue to transform processes within the business reporting supply chain. Further, I see tremendous potential for XBRL in improving reporting beyond the traditional financial statements."
Five At-Large members of the ISC were also elected: Li Dan, China Ministry of Finance; John Turner, CoreFiling; Caetano Nobre, MZ Consult S.A.; Shiping Liu, Global Business Intelligence Consulting Corporation; and Avinash Chander, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. David G. van den Ende, Director with Deloitte Netherlands, was elected as Second Vice-Chair representing At-Large members.
