How to Join:


To become a Regular Member, watch our video tutorials to learn how to register for the website and join the AICPA online, or follow the steps below:
  1. Click the orange "Join" button at the top of the page.
  2. When prompted, log into the website using your AICPA.org login credentials, or register for the site if you have not already done so.
  3. Complete the online application.

Note: You must complete and submit a paper application if applying for membership under UAA equivalency.

Apply to be a Regular Member (Voting) of the AICPA if you meet any of the following qualifications:

You hold a valid and current CPA license and have passed either the Uniform CPA exam or the International Qualification Examination (IQEX).

You held a CPA license in the past that was not revoked for disciplinary reasons and have passed either the Uniform CPA exam or the International Qualification Examination (IQEX).

You have completed the requirements for CPA licensure as defined by the Uniform Accountancy Act (UAA), but you have never been licensed.

Professional Conduct  

You must agree to abide by the AICPA Bylaws and Code of Professional Conduct.

   
   
Education  

To be eligible for membership as a regular member, you must have passed the Uniform CPA Examination. Beginning January 1, 2013, individuals who have passed the CPA Examination before that date and possess a valid CPA certificate, but do not meet the 150 hour requirement, will be eligible for membership if the state that issued the certificate enacts a 150-hour requirement. Read More >

   
   
Professional Education

From January 1, 2001, forward and for each three-year reporting period thereafter, you agree to complete 120 hours, or its equivalent, of continuing professional education. Read More >

   
   

Peer Review

 

If you are in public practice, and you or your firm perform accounting services that fall within the scope of AICPA's practice-monitoring standards (most accounting and auditing services), your firm (or you, individually, if your firm is not eligible to enroll) must be enrolled in the AICPA Peer Review Program. Membership Payments  

Upon review by the Board of Directors, you may or may not be elected to membership. In the event of your admittance to the AICPA, a full year's dues payment is required. Should your application be rejected, your dues remittance will be returned. To align new members with the AICPA billing cycle, a prorated dues renewal for the following fiscal year will be payable by July 31.

   
   
Military Service  

Those engaged in active military service should contact the AICPA Member Service Center to verify their eligibility for any dues waiver that may be available for such service. Call 1-888-777-7077 or email service@aicpa.org
