Now accepting nominations for AICPA Maximo Mukelabai Award
The 2012 Maximo Mukelabai Award recognizes a young CPA who has demonstrated outstanding service towards the advancement, stewardship and promotion of the accounting profession and selfless contributions to their community. Peers, AICPA staff, employers or State Society liaisons may submit nominations for the annual award until May 15, 2012. Self-nominations are not accepted. The 2012 AICPA Leadership Academy offers a select group of 30 applicants to participate in a program that exposes them to a strong ethic of leadership and service, while providing them with a foundational set of tools and relationships that will help them expand their leadership competencies and empower them to become leaders within their organizations, communities and the CPA profession. Now accepting nominees for AICPA Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award
The AICPA is now accepting nominations for the 2012 Distinguished Achievement in Accounting Education Award. The award recognizes full-time college accounting educators distinguished for excellence in teaching and for national prominence in the accounting profession. The award serves a dual function: to extend profession-wide recognition to the recipient and promote role models in academia. State CPA societies and individuals may submit nominations for the annual award until March 1. Self-nominations are not accepted.
