Tax Practice Management Committee (TPMC) 

Committee Objectives & Responsibilities

The Tax Practice Management Committee (TPMC) monitors developments, trends, and best practices for management of a tax practice or tax department and:

  • Creates products and services, including tax practice guides, for members that improve the quality, efficiency, and profitability of tax practices, and help members maintain high practice standards
  • Monitors new, emerging or changing areas of tax practice to help members improve efficiency, service quality, and profitability of their practices
  • Develops guidance, tips, and other informational resources on practice management issues unique to the tax practitioner in the areas of workflow and process, client communications, client security and technology, and practice development (i.e., attracting and retaining clients)

The TPMC is an oversight committee for the Tax Practice Guides Task Force which is responsible for developing and maintaining practice guides specifically provided as a benefit of Tax Section membership. Additionally, the TPMC monitors the need for a tax specialization accreditation and makes appropriate recommendations to the Tax Executive Committee.
