Objectives of the CPA/PFS Program
Who is a CPA Personal Financial Specialist?
First, recognize that all financial planners are not created equal and the differences DO matter.
A CPA/PFS is more than a financial planner—he or she is a CPA with the powerful combination of extensive tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning.
This knowledge is critical to obtaining the most valuable, objective advice possible. All areas of personal financial planning—including estate, retirement, investments and insurance—have tax implications, and the CPA/PFS professional has the experience, ethics, and expertise to get the job done right.
Objectives
Increase public awareness of CPA/PFS as the preferred financial planning credential
Help credential holders promote their practices through the PFP website and the development of CPA/PFS marketing tools
Enhance the quality of PFP services that CPA/PFS professionals provide
Increase practice development and career opportunities for CPA/PFS credential holders
