    Each year, the Information Management and Technology Assurance Membership Section's Top Technology Initiatives Task Force surveys individuals working in industry, public accounting, academia, and government. The results are then compiled, ranked, and published for the AICPA community and the public at large. What originally started as a small group project has grown into an initiative voted on by AICPA IMTA Division members as well as other professional organization members.

    Privacy is a risk management issue for all organizations, and many are looking to CPA firms for privacy solutions. CPAs can provide guidance to the organizations they serve by using the Generally Accepted Privacy Principles (GAPP) to help assess their privacy-related risks as well as to develop sound privacy policies and practices.
