The AICPA Benevolent Fund was established for the purpose of assisting AICPA members through temporary periods of financial difficulty. The Fund provides assistance with meeting daily subsistence (living) expenses, and medical and prescription expenses that exceed insurance coverage brought about by serious illness, an accident, or the death of the primary source of family income. Financial assistance grants are provided on a case-by-case basis depending on financial need and circumstances surrounding that need.
This is a devastating time for many, and we are prepared to help our members through the financial challenges they may face in the coming days and weeks. Please contact us at 866.527.2228 or by email at benevolent_fund@aicpa.org.
For those Wishing to Provide Assistance:
We know you want to help individuals in the communities impacted by the storm, however, there are reports of an increase in charity scams in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The AICPA recommends that those looking to make a financial contribution make donations to trusted charities such as the American Red Cross. Before you make a donation for Hurricane relief with an alternate charity, find out if it is listed among legitimate tax-exempt organizations.
