This alert contains instructions for participating in the upcoming EBPAQC FASB Statement No. 158 Implications to Defined Benefit Plans Live Forum, to be held on Thursday, January 11, 2007, 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Please note that this email is only sent to Designated Partners, administrative contacts and registered participants, so please forward to all "attendees" at your firm.
EBPAQC Executive Committee members Marilee Lau, Partner, KPMG LLP, Val Bitton, Partner, Deloitte & Touche LLP, and Sherry Davis, Partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP will discuss the recently issued FASB Statement No. 158, Employers' Accounting for Defined Benefit Pension and Other Postretirement Plans—an amendment of FASB Statements No. 87, 88, 106, and 132(R). The live forum will include:
- An overview of FAS 158 and how it affects defined benefit plans
- A discussion of audit considerations and strategy, and specific investments that may be particularly affected
- A roundtable discussion of the potential effects on plan audits
- A question and answer session regarding FAS 158 and its effect on plans and plan audits
Attached to this Alert are PowerPoint slides that will be used in the presentation. Please download or print the slides prior to the call so you can follow along with the speaker.
You will be able to ask questions via email during the call. Those questions will be addressed by the speakers in a question and answer session at the end of the presentation.
