Under the automatic disciplinary provisions of the Institute’s bylaws, Ms. Gardner was admonished, effective April 13, 2012, in connection with the North Carolina State Board of Certified Public Accountant Examiners disciplinary action. Specifically, the state board censured and issued Ms. Gardner a civil penalty for disclosing confidential client information obtained in the course of employment or a professional engagement without consent.
