Promoting Your Talent: A Guidebook for Women and Their Firms by Nancy R. Baldiga (Second Edition)
Many of the young men and women completing accounting programs today have excellent training. They possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, have outstanding technical knowledge and often have practical experience prior to becoming a CPA. But creating a successful career takes more than that: there is a certain art to applying those skills. Author Nancy Baldiga provides practice tips and real life examples from leaders in the profession, as well as suggestions for tackling the obstacles firms and organizations encounter in leadership development and promoting their talent. This publication also contains career information for women in business and industry. To order product number 872566, visit www.CPA2biz.com.
Surveys
Gender Trends in Public Accounting
As part of its effort to provide resources to firms to support the retention and advancement of their female talent, the Women’s Initiatives Executive Committee gathered benchmark data on the status of female professionals within public accounting firms, and on firm programs aimed at advancing females to leadership positions.
Advocacy and Advancement
The survey was designed to gather information about the frequency and nature of advocacy relationships, characteristics of advocates and protégés, and whether the presence of an advocate has an effect on professional advancement.
