How did you learn about the AICPA?
The AICPA was all over the news as a major employer relocating to the area; this of course was a big deal! I jumped at the opportunity, sent in my resume and crossed my fingers.
How long have you been employed to the AICPA?
I always have to check my badge; because you know what they say about time flying! But I have had the pleasure of being here since August 2006 and was one of the first inhabitants of Palladian 1.
Why do you like working at the AICPA?
Opportunities! In my short time I have had the pleasure of being in three very different roles; one of which gained me quite a bit of exposure and the chance to work with international accounting membership organizations and I have been to amazing places; Hong Kong is off my bucket list! Further, I have enjoyed amazing mentoring opportunities and received invaluable coaching, which has empowered me to think of my career without limits.
What cool projects have you worked on at the AICPA?
I was on loan to an international membership organization serving the needs of 16 (including the AICPA) international accounting institutes for 3 years; I have traveled to places like Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Scotland, Ireland. I’d say that’s pretty cool!
What is your favorite perk/benefit about working at the AICPA?
Work/life balance (telecommuting potential) as a working mom – you can’t beat it.
What’s unique about working at the AICPA as compared to other employers?
In short, opportunities.
