Be a Part of AICPA's First Consumer-Focused Book

Help Us Provide CPA Guidance for Consumers

In celebration of our 125th anniversary, the AICPA will highlight the CPA profession’s financial literacy expertise in a consumer-focused book. The book content will be a collection of personal essays showcasing the many ways CPAs transform financial lives.

The AICPA is looking for real-world saving and spending stories and tales of both money struggles and triumph to help families get a handle on their finances and teach good habits to children. Our goal is to publish the book in the same style as the Chicken Soup for the Soul series in Fall 2012. That will coincide with the AICPA’s 125th anniversary and allow us to take advantage of the moment to highlight the CPA profession in the public.

Teachable Momemts

This book will be the AICPA’s first consumer publication and the first book published as part of the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy program.

We encourage you to submit an essay and be a part of this exciting project to help families. Below you'll find links to the essay submission form and two sample essays. All essays selected for inclusion in the book will identify the CPA, his or her firm or practice and membership in his or her state CPA society. If more essays are received than can be included in the book, we will post them on the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy website. Everyone who submits an essay will be notified in mid-summer, whether or not their essay will be included. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book will go to supporting the profession's continued efforts in financial literacy.

360 Degrees of Financial Literacy is the CPA profession's volunteer effort to improve the financial understanding of all Americans. Launched in 2004, together the AICPA, state CPA societies and CPA volunteers reach millions of Americans annually. This is the first consumer publication from the AICPA as well as the first book to be distributed under the 360 Degrees of Financial Literacy effort.
