AICPA Advanced Personal Financial Planning Conference Returns for 30th Year

Agenda Filled with Top Quality Technical Content
Published May 01, 2017

NEW YORK (May 1, 2017) – There is no better place for financial planning professionals to connect with thought leaders and get top quality technical content than at the AICPA Advanced Personal Financial Planning (PFP) Conference. The 30th annual conference will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, with pre-conference sessions on June 10 & 11th and the main conference from June 12-14, 2017. Financial planners will benefit from in-depth technical education sessions and panel discussions while networking with the profession’s top influencers. Must attend sessions this year include: the future of financial planning in the digital age, preventing behavioral biases from sabotaging long-term objectives and a debate over what is the key driver in helping clients reach their goals.

The AICPA Advanced PFP Conference is one of the largest financial planning conferences of the year, and annually attracts serious professionals who deal with high net-worth clients. Experts recognize it as one of the best conferences for technical educational sessions and networking. Attendees agree with that sentiment, with 96 percent of those who attended the 2016 conference saying the quality of speakers exceeded their expectations.

The PFP Conference will join five other conferences including the AICPA’s Advanced Estate Planning and Tax Strategies for the High-Income Professional, as a part of the newly launched AICPA ENGAGE Conference. ENGAGE brings together thought leaders, technical specialists, entrepreneurs, innovators and influencers from six specializations to one unique event. More information about ENGAGE is available online

The ideas shared at the PFP Conference dive deep into professional development, practice management and the future of financial planning. This year’s conference agenda was developed to provide captivating content and educational sessions for all financial planning professionals -- including CPA financial planners; CPA/PFS credential holders; CFPs; CFAs; CIMAs; tax and estate planning attorneys; and investment advisers. Much more than just a conference aimed at CPA financial planners, 45 percent of attendees in 2016 received continuing education credits for credentials other than the CPA.

“The AICPA is proud to bring thought leaders from the entire financial planning profession together for the PFP Conference,” said Andrea Millar, CPA/PFS, AICPA director of personal financial planning. “Serious financial planners will be captivated by the combination of technical sessions and forward-looking leading speakers we have assembled for the 2017 Conference. Financial planners should not miss this chance to connect with some of the brightest planning minds in the country.”

Financial planners will have their choice of five focused learning tracks: Wealth Management and Tax, Investment Management, Retirement Planning, Insurance and Risk Management and Practice Management and Technology.

Over the course of the conference, financial planners will sharpen their skills, refine business strategies, implement new techniques and learn how to take a holistic approach to their client’s financial plans at every life stage. Attendees will emerge from the conference better equipped to help their clients navigate shifts and changes in the global economy. With in-depth technical sessions on best practices hosted by esteemed thought leaders from throughout the profession, new attendees will learn why the AICPA PFP Conference is a must attend event.

“In today’s volatile economic environment, it’s more important than ever that financial planners have the most current knowledge and techniques to serve their clients,” said Ted Sarenski, CPA/PFS, chair of the 2017 PFP Conference Planning Committee. “This year’s AICPA PFP Conference offers unique insights and technical content from top thought leaders who will add value for planners, their practices and most importantly, their clients.”
