AICPA Offers New Workshop on Corporate Financial Planning and Analysis 

July Event Will Give Financial Leaders Tools to Drive Profitability in Their Companies

New York (May 18, 2012) – Today’s fast-paced and uncertain global business environment is placing greater demands on financial executives to provide strategic insight and in-depth analysis that adds value to their business. 

 

To help meet that need, the American Institute of CPAs is launching a new, two-day workshop on financial planning and analysis that will familiarize attendees with the cutting-edge concepts they need to set strategy and optimize decision-making in their organizations.  The July 12-13 workshop, to be held in the AICPA’s offices in New York City, is aimed at controllers, CFOs, finance managers and CPAs from companies of every size and stripe.

 

Among the topics the workshop will address are:

 

·         Implementing an integrated performance management process.

 

·         Developing strategy-based budget and rolling forecast processes for flexible planning and analysis.

 

·         Creating key performance metrics for managing product, service line and customer profitability.

 

·         Emphasizing the advantages of customer-based decision-making in planning.

 

·         Overcoming barriers to the successful implementation and communication of a company’s strategy to employees.

 

Session speakers include Michael Browne, MSA, CPA, CGMA, CFM, CPIM, ABV; Gary Cokins, CPIM, William J Hass, CTP, chief executive of TeamWork Technologies; and author and speaker Douglas T. Hicks, CPA, CMC.
