American Institute of CPAs Names Anthony Pugliese Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer

– The American Institute of CPAs today announced that Anthony J. Pugliese, CPA, CGMA, CITP, has been named senior vice president and chief operating officer.
In this capacity, Pugliese will oversee member service, continuing professional education, publications, conferences, academic and career awareness, specialized communities and credentialing, finance and accounting, member value, internal audit, information technology, and business process reengineering. He is based in the Institute’s Durham, N.C. office.
Pugliese joined the AICPA in 1997 from Deloitte & Touche, LLP in New York where he was a manager in the firm’s audit practice. He was instrumental in the AICPA’s move to Durham, acting as overall project manager for the relocation of many of the AICPA’s operations from New York in 2006. He is the past chair of the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the board of directors for the North Carolina Chamber of Commerce and the Research Triangle Regional Partnership.
