Welcome to the AICPA's new Financial Reporting Center

As an AICPA member you will find resources to assist you across the entire financial reporting process. Whether you are involved in accounting, preparing financial statements, or performing compilation, review, audit, attest, or assurance and advisory engagements, this new Center will support you in the execution of high-quality financial reporting by providing:

  • Industry insights on important financial reporting topics
  • A Standards Tracker to help you stay current on recently issued FASB, ARSC, and ASB standards
  • Insight and guidance to help you avoid common financial reporting pitfalls

New Management Accounting Designation Has Arrived

The AICPA and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants have launched a global designation for management accounting, the Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Membership Types 

Current Membership Categories
The AICPA offers different types of membership to meet your needs. Click each link to learn more:

  • Regular Member: Anyone who has passed the CPA Exam and is either a certified/licensed CPA, or was previously certified/licensed, or meets all the qualifications for certification.
  • Associate Member: Anyone who has passed the CPA Exam but is not yet certified/licensed to practice.
  • International Associate: For individuals who hold non-U.S accounting credential and full, regular membership with one of eleven accounting organizations approved by the AICPA Board of Directors.
  • Non-CPA Associate: Anyone who has not passed the CPA Exam and meets one of the following: owners or professional staff of public accounting firms; financial professionals in business, government, not-for-profit organizations or in a consulting or law firms; or full-time business or accounting educators.
  • Non-CPA Faculty Associate: This category is no longer available for new members. Existing members have been transferred to the Non-CPA Associate category and notified. 
  • Non-CPA Section Associate: This category is no longer available for new members. Existing members have been transferred to the Non-CPA Associate category and notified.
  • CPA Exam Candidate Affiliate: Anyone who has a current Notice to Schedule to sit for the CPA Exam.
  • Student Affiliate: College students who are considering the accounting profession.

  • Forensic and Valuation Services (FVS)

Credentials & Designations:

  • Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV)

  • Certified in Financial Forensics (CFF)

  • Certified Information Technology Professional (CITP)

  • Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) 

  • Personal Financial Specialist (PFS)

Firm Memberships:

  • Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS)
  • Governmental Audit Quality Center (GAQC)
  • Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC)
  • Center for Audit Quality (CAQ).

Reinstatement:

Anyone who has been an AICPA member within the past three years may reinstate membership to maintain tenure. Previous year's dues will be charged. For Regular Members, membership is complimentary after 40 consecutive years of dues have been paid and full retirement age, as defined by the Social Security Administration, has been reached.
