Published June 21, 2017

Corbin Smith, CPA, CITPCorbin Smith CPA, CITP, an audit associate with Sarvas, Coleman, Edgell and Tobin, P.C., a full-service accounting firm in Phoenix, is this year’s recipient of the IMTA PSTECH @ ENGAGE Young CPA Scholarship. The scholarship covers the registration fee and travel expenses to AICPA ENGAGE.

In his role, Corbin advises on IT general controls and cybersecurity, and is uniquely positioned to consider those factors during an audit. He obtained his CPA license in Arizona in 2014, holds a master’s degree in accountancy from Arizona State University and is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. Corbin hopes that by attending PSTECH @ ENGAGE, he’ll be able to branch out into SOC and IT auditing so that he can be the advisor on IT controls, implementation, and cybersecurity management that many of his clients don't have.

Nominees for the IMTA PSTECH @ ENGAGE Young CPA Scholarship must:

  • Be a licensed CPA
  • Be a member in good standing with the AICPA
  • Have one to five years of experience as a CPA
  • Have spent less than five years in an IMTA-related field, such as security and privacy, data analytics, service organization control engagement or IT risk and assurance.
