Jennifer Coleman was born in Zachary, LA. However, New Orleans has been her home since 1966. She earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans in December 1982 and a Master of Science in Management from Troy State University in 1996. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Management (CGFM), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
Her government accounting career began in 1982. Since then, she has worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Energy, Internal Revenue Service, and the United States Department of Agriculture. She has 29 years of government service.
She facilitates college accounting classes and government training seminars to work with the accounting community and to keep up with government and accounting trends. She has been instructing classes since the year 2000. She looks forward to continuing to serve her accounting community in this capacity when she retires from federal service.
On a more personal note, she is married and has two sons. Her hobbies include exercising, reading, and traveling with her family.
