If you perform review engagements, the information and resources here will help you stay informed of changes to review standards, perform your review engagements, and be aware of common pitfalls in these engagements. The Accounting and Review Services Committee promulgates Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARS) and, as a part of its due process, releases Exposure Drafts of proposed SSARS. The AICPA also issues interpretive and other publications to assist practitioners in understanding and applying the standards.

	SSARS Clarity Project The Accounting and Review Services Committee (ARSC) is clarifying the SSARSs utilizing the clarity drafting conventions adopted by the Auditing Standards Board in its project to clarify the auditing standards. The ARSC will separately consider convergence with international standards once the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board completes its revision of the international compilation and review literature. 	Standards Tracker In an effort to keep its members informed, the AICPA has created a Standards Tracker. This tool will keep members up to date regarding the most recent guidance made available by standard setters, filtered in order to give you only what you need to know.


	*SSARS No. 19, Compilation and Review Engagements* Resources** This compilation and review standard includes the most significant changes since 1978. “The new standard makes important changes that should be welcomed and applauded by many smaller firm practitioners,” says Carol McNerney, chair of ARSC and a partner with the firm of SS&G Financial Services in Akron, Ohio. The final standard became effective for periods ending on or after December 15, 2010. Additional resources are available on SSARS No. 19.
