AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students 

The AICPA Minority Doctoral Fellowship seeks to increase the representation of ethnically diverse CPA professors in college/university classrooms. 
 
Requirements: An eligible student must be/have

  • a) applied to a doctoral program and am awaiting word on acceptance; b) been accepted into a doctoral program; or c)already matriculated in a doctoral program and pursuing appropriate coursework
  • earned a Master’s Degree and/or completed at least 3 years of full-time experience in the accounting practice
  • be a minority student of Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; or Native American ethnicity
  • attend school on a full-time basis and remain enrolled full-time until attaining one’s doctoral degree
  • be a CPA or plan to pursue the CPA credential

Amount: $12,000/year

AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship 

The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship provides financial assistance to accounting majors who plan to become CPAs.

Requirements: An eligible student must be/have:

  • enrolled in an accounting-related undergraduate or graduate-level student for the 2011-12 academic year
  • completed at least 30 semester hours (or equivalent) of college coursework, including at least 6 semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting
  • a major and overall GPA of 3.0

Amount: $2,500/year

AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship 

The John L. Carey Scholarship provides financial assistance to liberal arts and other non-business related degree holders who are pursuing graduate studies in accounting and the CPA designation.
 
Requirements: An eligible student must be/have
  • obtained a liberal arts or non-business undergraduate degree prior to enrolling in a graduate accounting program
  • not earned more than 12 credits in accounting or business during their undergraduate program
  • been accepted into, or am in the process of applying to, a graduate program in accounting that is accredited by AACSB International or ACBSP
  • not already be actively participating in a graduate accounting program
  • intending to pursue a CPA certificate

Amount: $5,000/year

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students 

The AICPA Minority Scholarship program provides awards to outstanding undergraduate and graduate minority students who plan to pursue the CPA licensure.

Requirements: An eligible applicant must be/have:

  • a full-time undergraduate or graduate-level accounting student
  • Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American or Asian American
  • completed at least 30 semester hours in college coursework with at least 6 semester hours in accounting
  • a major and overall GPA of 3.3

Amount: $3,000/year
