Executive Vice President – Strategy, People and Innovation
Lawson Carmichael is the Executive Vice President - Strategy, People and Innovation for the American Institute of CPAs.
In this role, Carmichael leads longer- and shorter-term strategy development and enterprise risk management, human capital, strategic intelligence, new product and business model innovation, strategic partnerships and governance related activities including supporting the Board of Directors and AICPA Council. Prior to joining the AICPA, Carmichael worked for Deloitte as director, corporate strategy. He was responsible for leading corporate and business unit growth strategies, developing long-term corporate strategic positioning and maximizing profit opportunities, as well as building and sustaining talent.
Prior to Deloitte, Carmichael served as managing director for Proxicom, a global eBusiness consulting firm. He also held several consulting roles advising healthcare organizations on strategy and organizational development.
Carmichael holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Communications from Towson University and a certification in Financial Management from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
